Self-care tips from Jesus Christ Tent International Ministries (JCTIM)

Rest at a quiet place

Today we will be talking about a Self - Care. In Mark 6:30 - 45 We will read:

“Jesus Christ told them to come with him to a quiet place and to get some rest and in Mark 4:35 - 41 We read He took time to rest even when those around him were feeling like they needed him to do something.”

Jesus doesn't want us to neglect ourselves; he wants us to love and care for ourselves JCTIM wants to talk a little bit about our Self-care. What is Self-care? —Self- care means taking the time to do things that help you live well and improve both your physical health and mental health. This can help you manage stress, lower your risk of illness, and increase your energy. Even a small act of self-care in your daily life can have a big impact. Mental health includes emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It is more than the absence of a mental illness—it’s essential to your overall health and quality of life. Self-care can play a role in maintaining your mental health and help support your treatment and recovery if you have a mental illness, God does care about our health a lot. Self-care from Jesus Christ Tent International Ministries (JCTIM) suggest:

1. Have family devotions: Set aside time each day or week to read God's Word and pray together as a family. This will help you know more about one another and grow closer to God and to each other. 2. Practice forgiveness: Forgiveness is an important part of any relationship. Practice forgiving each other and showing mercy, just as God shows mercy to us. This will take out ego from our heart and give us more opportunities of positive outcomes. 3. Show appreciation for each other: Express gratitude to each other for the ways you support and care for one another. Kudos to members of our families and communities. Give opportunities to encourage and motivate each other and make people feel that they are someone. 4. Make time for quality time: With busy schedules, it's easy to get caught up in activities and neglect quality time with each other. Make time for activities that bring you joy and closer together. This also allows us to balance our lives in a harmonious manner by smoothly combining work, family, and hobbies. 5. Seek help when needed: Don't be afraid to seek help from friends, a counselor or pastor if you're struggling with relationships in general and especially within your family. They can provide guidance and support to help you build stronger relationships. We noticed that familiarity makes us to minimize our closest one’s power to comfort us, but we shall overcome that bias to get started within our own family and community. If there’s no local experience and resources, we can then proceed to seek help outside our closest social environment in closing, anytime we experience loneliness, anxious, depressed, or burnout the following could help us sustain our self-care: Call members of families and talk to them. Listen to gospel music Take a small walk, take a nap as needed, take time to have fun as well. May Our Yeshua cover us with His blood.
