Pentecost

Spirit of Power

Pentecost

Acts 2:5-47

The Holy Spirit came upon the disciples of Jesus Christ and the assembly during the day of Pentecost . The Jews in Jerusalem from every nation were able to hear the sound of the Holy Spirit and all of them heard their native language. They were all able to hear each other. Both Jews and people converted to Judaism were all declaring God’s wonders in their own languages. They were even questioning one another because they were in awe and some among them were making fun of their own thinking they consumed a lot of wine but that was not the case.

Peter and the eleven disciples stood to explain to everyone that people were not drunk and referred them back to telling them that was the prophecy Prophet Joel talked about that came to pass. Peter reminded them of Jesus Christ among them and how He came to deliver them from evil and save them ; then was hanged on the cross, died and rose from the dead because death has no power over Him. Peter talked more about Jesus being a Prophet and a Prophet among others who was the one that was raised from the dead and sat at the right hand of the Father. Because of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Holy Spirit has come and did all that mankind can see and hear. Peter was making everyone know that Jesus Christ was Lord and Messiah as well. Peter exhorted everyone listening to him at that time, to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for their sins to be forgiven and they can receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. During that day of the Holy Spirit, 3000 people were added unto their assembly. The Holy Spirit has the Power to gather people and for them to be in one accord. Many that gave their lives to Jesus Christ that day of Pentecost after listening to the apostles of Jesus Christ were all devoted in fellowshipping, welcomed their teaching, prayed and had communion together. They were led to do things the same way Jesus Christ taught them. The apostles performed many signs and wonders that everyone was amazed about. The assembly of believers were all united because of the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. They sold their possessions and property to support the needy and met every day and had communion together.
