Let's dive into the bible
"Ah, my lord, what shall we do?" He replied, "Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." Elisha prayed and said, "Lord, open his eyes that he may see." So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha." 2 Kings 6:15-17 According to his studies on warfare, military historian T.N. Dupuy suggested that one reason Napoleon Bonaparte was an exceptional commander was that he knew how to capitalize on his advantages. "He knew that - all things being equal - numerical superiority on the battlefield is the principal factor determining the outcome of combat. He always sought to have numerical superiority and the greatest combat power at the strategic point on the battlefield." Elisha's servant also understood the importance of numerical superiority and was filled with fear after realizing that Elisha and he were surrounded by the Aramean army's chariots. Elisha was not worried. He knew that the heavenly army was on their side and that God's army is infinitely superior to that of the Arameans or any other earthly force. Many Christians are caught up in worldly concerns and worry because they think they cannot measure up to the forces opposing them. However, God wants us to be like Elisha and realize that His army is on our side. As long as we serve Him, we will always be on the side of the majority. Do you feel overwhelmed? Defeated? God wants you to put your trust in Him and know that His heavenly army is by your side. You don't have to feel defeated. Rejoice in the Lord and present your needs to Him. Then, declare victory!
A Prayer for Today "Father, open my eyes that I may see the spiritual army surrounding me. I declare victory over my enemies. I trust you for the resources I need. I hope in you. In Jesus' name. Amen."
