Jesus presented to God by Simeon

The value of the first fruit

Luc 2: 22 - 40

As Jesus Christ was born, he was presented in the temple by his parents Mary and Joseph for the purification rites required by the law of Moses. Jesus Christ was consecrated to the Lord since he was the first-born male presented before the Lord God.

Simeon who was a righteous man in his old age was moved by the Holy Spirit; and was led to present Jesus Christ to the Lord God. Simeon was happy to see Jesus Christ to present him as the Salvation prepared by God in the sight of the nations, a light of revelation to the gentiles and the glory of Israel. Simeon was able to prophesy to Jesus Christ by telling Mary his mother that Jesus Christ is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel and a sign spoken against.

In the meantime, there was also a woman of God, Anna who fasted and prayed in the temple, gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem. Joseph and Mary returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth and our Lord Jesus Christ grew and became strong; was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was with Him.

Brethren, we can learn from this message of harvest in presenting our first fruits to the Lord God which is one of God’s instructions to us to always abide unto and be always fruitful and blessed.

For those who want to receive Jesus Christ please repeat this below.

Dear God, I know I am a sinner. I want to turn from my sins, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ is your son. I believe He died for my sins and that you raised Him to life. I want you Jesus Christ to come into my heart and to take control of my life. I want to trust you as my Savior and Lord and follow you from this day forward as you grant me with your Favor. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray.

Father, God, we thank you for Jesus Christ our Lord and Messiah sent to the world for our sins to be forgiven. God help us to be led by your Holy Spirit to always present our first fruits to you. We pray this prayer in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen!
