Humility / Prominence

Pray the will of God to be done

TODAY SUNDAY’S SERMON

Today’s service was based on 2 spiritual substances: the notion about prominence and the power of THE WORD.

First we talked about Prominence in a mother’s request to Jesus:
In MATTHEW 20:20-28 The mother of James and John asks Jesus to grant her two sons the most prominent places in his coming kingdom.

When the other ten disciples hear about this, they are angry. Jesus takes this opportunity to challenge their notions about prominence.

Whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant ; whoever wishes to be first among you will be the slave of all”; just as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Oftentimes we are tempted to be served and be given much attention by what we have, what we have done, and what we have achieved.

The second spiritual substance was about the power of the Word in the scripture about the 2 men on the way of Emmaus in
LUKE 24: :13-35

After Jesus was crucified , two of his disciples were on the road of Emmaus a place not far from Jerusalem . The disciples were talking about what happened to Jesus Christ and suddenly, a third person joined the group. And the third person was asking them questions about what happened that day . Then the disciples asked him if he was knew to the area and did not know what happened to Jesus Christ .

The disciples told him that Jesus Christ was a Prophet who talked with Power and the rulers and priests sold him to the Romans and got crucified and was supposed to redeem Israel.

This third person was Jesus Christ and they never knew He was among them. He wanted to go away and the disciples invited Him to come with them and He did.

They sat down and Jesus Christ taught them about the Word and as He broke the break and they saw immediately that was Jesus Christ and they were astonished that He is indeed among them.

They were blinded and He enlightened them and the veil was torn for them to see and know He is among them and even though He left He is still with them and He is still with us today.

GOD RICHLY BLESS YOU !
