God is my Refuge
Great Love
Psalm 17:7-8
Brethren in Christ, we as Christians must know we will and always have enemies whether we want it or not. One of the reasons behind this is that we cannot be loved by everyone. Every individual who tries to live for God will make some enemies. Our foes might hate us, laugh at us for serving Jesus Christ, and the rest is left with God alone.
This world is not friendly toward God and we all must know it clearly. If we stand for the things of God we will find that many enemies will rise up, hate us, and seek to hurt us or even betray us. This should not surprise us when people fight against us. In the world, we will have tribulations, but be of good cheer and Christ Himself told us about this. Jesus Christ Himself says that He has overcome the world. He is saying that if the world persecuted the Master it would also persecute the servant. He, the Master, was persecuted so you can expect the same treatment.
In this message, David was a man who loved God and served God. He was a man after God’s own heart, but he had many enemies. We do not have to ever believe for one minute that getting saved takes care of our enemies and our troubles. In some ways, we will see more troubles after we are saved but we will always overcome them. There are some denominations that teach that if we will love right and love God with all our heart, we will never have problems. That sounds really good but it’s just not true. If that’s true, why did David have trouble, he was a man after God’s own heart? If that’s true, why did Job lose his family and fortune? He was perfect and upright in all his ways. If that’s true, why did Paul have a thorn in the flesh? He was the greatest missionary that ever walked the face of the earth and bad things still happen to God’s people and Jesus Christ Himself went through many troubles because of us. He loves us very much and as we remain in Him, we will all see the wonders of His great love for us. This is to say that God never lies and nor can we doubt what God Almighty says to us because He is God and was and is the One that created us, created even the earth and heavens. . He is the only One that can hide us in the shadow of His wings, and keep us as the apple of His eye because of His love for us. We can see Him as our Refuge if we really are His or want to be His forever. We all have a choice to make for our own lives, and we can choose to go with Him or the other way around.
For those who want to receive Jesus Christ please repeat this below
Dear God, I know I am a sinner. I want to turn from my sins, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ is your son. I believe He died for my sins and that you raised Him to life. I want you Jesus Christ to come into my heart and to take control of my life. I want to trust you as my Savior and Lord and follow you from this day forward as you grant me with your Favor. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, God of Abraham, God of Jacob and Isaac, I thank you for all you have done for me. I am asking you to show me the wonders of your great love and hide me in you at all times when I need you the most. God Almighty, thank you for considering me as the apple of your eye. Put in me your passion and desire to always live for you and be intimate with you forever. I thank you for making me know that I am an overcomer, I believe you, and trust you for being my Refuge. I pray this prayer in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen!
