Luke 2: 22 -40
Jesus' parents, Mary and Joseph, take Him to the temple to be circumcised and dedicated to God (vv. 22-24). Simeon, a righteous and devout man, recognizes Jesus as the Messiah and prophesies about His future (vv. 25-35). Anna, a prophetess, also recognizes Jesus and shares the news with others (vv. 36-38). After the temple visit, Jesus' family returns to Nazareth, where He grows up in wisdom and favor with God (vv. 39-40).
